SnowSchool Experiences

IMG_0674In conjunction with our partners at the Winter Wildlands Alliance (WWA), SOLE’s SnowSchool Experience SM program is a designated WWA’s SnowSchool – the nations largest on-snow outdoor science program.  The primary goal for this program is to provide an affordable and accessible winter outdoor education opportunity for local area youth in traditional or homeschool settings to get “out and about” to explore, achieve, and lead – all while having fun!

SOLE is the only SnowSchool in the Inland Northwest, and as such our local area partners including University of Idaho – Sandpoint, Idaho Fish and Game, Schweitzer Mountain and others provide assistance to ensure that we meet local school needs.

SOLE provides the gear and the outing – prepped and planned.  Students will experience place-based curriculum that focus on subjects such as:

  • Winter Ecology
  • Snow Science
  • Winter Outdoor Living and Travel Skills (i.e., snow shelters, how to keep warm and dry, etc.)
That being said if you have specific curriculum that you would like to see facilitated, custom-tailored is what we do!  In addition, SOLE will make every effort to work with you to make these opportunities affordable and accessible.  Provide ample time during your consultation to ensure your students’ needs are met!
