Partner Logo For SitePack your pack, and hit the trail! Join Selkirk Outdoor Leadership and Education (SOLE) and our partners, the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics to celebrate our wild landscapes on the heels of the 50th Celebration of the Wilderness Act!

SOLE will host a Leave No Trace (LNT) Awareness Hike to Harrison Lake, in the majestic Selkirk Mountains. This family friendly hike and locale is the perfect outdoor classroom to explore Leave No Trace Outdoor Skills and Ethics, in a fun and engaging manner. This hike will be special for certain. SOLE partners, the Leave No Trace Center for Outdoor Ethics, will be one hand with their Traveling Trainer Team. These outdoor professionals will provide an experiential curriculum which will take an in depth look at the importance of these minimum impact techniques, including answering the “how” and “why”.

LNT Awareness Workshops are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts interested in learning these critical skills to become more backcountry savvy, or those in search of refresher.

In an effort to adhere and practically apply LNT principles and ethics this hike will be limited in group size, so please sign up early. Participants should be prepared for a full day of exploring and learning in a backcountry environment, including be prepared for conditions with appropriate clothing, adequate hiking shoes, 2 liters of water, nutritious snacks and lunch, and sun protection.
